Walter Frederick Rink, 70, of Palatka, Fl passed away November 20, 2020 after a brave battle with cancer. He was born on February 16, 1950 in Woodbury, NJ to the late Walter and Dorothy (Landwher) Rink. Walter was raised in Mantua, NJ and graduated from Clearview Regional High School. After high school, he served his country honorably in the United States Navy for four years. While Walter was in the Navy he met, fell in love, and married his wife, Beverly. Walter worked in retail management for several years and then got the opportunity to learn hydraulic mechanics. He worked for 25 years at Pile Equipment and retired from Mabry Bridge. Walter loved fixing and building things and was exceptionally talented. He enjoyed playing poker, gambling, spending time on the water, and taking trips to the North Carolina mountains. Walter will forever be remembered as a loving yet strong man, wonderful provider, and a cherished friend to all. He is preceded by his parents and a sister, Joyce Dorothy Rink Hudson. Walter is survived by his best friend and wife of 47 years, Beverly Poole Rink; children, Heather Mahalaris (Billy) and Shelby Sikes (Mark); brother, Robert Rink (Gail); sister, Betty Klinetob (Joe) and grandchildren, Cody, Dylan, Jacob, and Liam. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in the Jacksonville Memory Gardens Chapel. The family requests, n lieu of flowers donations be made in Walter’s memory to Community Hospice of North East FL.
