Robert Peter Hoke, 75, of Meadville died Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Meadville Medical Center.
 
He was born July 25, 1945 in Meadville a son of Robert C. and Mary V. O’Brien Hoke.  He married Elaine M. Hunt April 30, 1977 and she survives.
 
He was a 1963 graduate of St. Agatha High School and was a veteran serving from 1965-1968 during the Vietnam War Era in the US Navy.  Following his military service he worked as an electrician for Cox & Kanyuck until he became a professional firefighter. He served with the Meadville Fire Department for 24 years, where he was member and past President of Firefighters Local #515, serving on the negotiating team for many years, before retiring in 1997.  While working as a fireman, he also worked part time for PA Fire Equipment in Saegertown and at the former Warehouse Electric in Meadville.  In his retirement he delivered for Loeffler’s Flowers and drove a school van for Wykoff Automotive in Saegertown.  He really enjoyed all the kids on his run.
 
He was a member of New Beginnings Church of God.  He was also a long time member of the Meadville Club and a social member of West Mead #2 Vol. Fire Department where he was known to have an iced tea or diet Coke every morning. He also enjoyed the Tuesday morning breakfast club that often would meet at McDonalds.
 
He enjoyed hunting and attending all the sports and 4-H activities that his children and grandchildren were involved in. His wife and family deeply loved him. He, and his sense of humor, will be greatly missed.
 
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Elaine of 43 years, include: five children, Brian Myers (Donna Riley) of Venango, Shawn Hoke (Rayna) of Shippenville and Jason Hoke (Jen), Andrew Hoke and Darcy Hoke all of Meadville; eleven grandchildren, Bummer Riley, Heather Beech, Stephanie Walters, Kaylee, Gabbie, Collin, Ian, Mason, Madalyn, Natalie and Lainey Hoke; two grand puppies, Rusty and Avery “Little One”; eight great grandchildren; four siblings, Bill Hoke (Paula Putney) of Canton, NC, Mary Jessey (Joe) of Meadville, Walter Nick Hoke (Laurie) of Meadville and Eileen Watson (Brian Bean) of Meadville; thirteen nieces and nephews, Dustin Hoke, Danny Williams, Matthew Jessey, Aaron Jessey, Ashley Benhart, Michelle Kearns, Adam Hoke, Heidi Dugan, Andrea Carr, Caleb Hoke, Alexis Pearson, Teylor Pearson and Tucker Watson and many great nieces and great nephews.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lisa Marie Hoke.
 
Calling hours will be Monday, November 23rd from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville masking and physical distancing per the CDC guidelines will be followed.
 
The funeral service will be Tuesday, November 24th at 11 a.m. at New Beginnings Church of God with Pastor Cliff Forbes, officiating.
 
Interment with military honors provided by Cochranton American Legion Post 836 will be in Greendale Cemetery.
