He loved the city of Cambridge and gave his time and talents willingly.  He served on the Chamber of Commerce, Jacket Hoops Booster and the Purple Hawk Country Club Board of Directors and he was a  member of the American Legion, Post 290.

His private passions were the Balmoral Boys and living up to his moniker of Gamblin’ Man Young.  He never missed “Wine Time” and was called the “Grill Master” when he entertained his many friends and family.

He loved playing drums in the Ken Kaye  and The Kambers Band as well as playing the organ.  In fact, his rendition of “Take me out to the Ball Game” can be heard during the 7th inning stretch at Avon Lakers Field in Avon, MN
