Magdalena Fernandez Obituary

Magdalena Fernandez arrived in heaven on November 18, 2020. She was born on August 20, 1951 to Jose and Alta Gracia Chairez in San Ignacio, Zacatecas, Mexico. Nena met her childhood sweetheart, Manuel Fernandez, at twelve years of age and they have been together ever since. Together they had 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

After 20 years at Transit Accessories Nena retired and devoted her time to taking care of her grandchildren making sure they and her children knew how loved they were. Nena was also known as “Mami Nena” to her favorite people. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, and showering everyone with food and love. Love was so strongly felt through each one of her hugs and that is what will be missed the most. Her favorite dish to make her family was “pockets” which are gorditas. She packed each one full of love. Nena was the one who stayed connected with every relative on all branches of her family tree. It was easy to see why she held such a special place in so many people’s hearts.

Nena is survived by her spouse Manuel Fernandez Sr and their three children Sulema Castillo and her husband Guillermo, Manuel Fernandez Jr, and Fernando Fernandez. Grandchildren/great-grandchildren: Sabryna Paiz, her husband Theo, and their children Nathaniel and Gianna; Arianna Mendoza, her husband Willie, and their daughter Elissia; Abel Gomez; Adam Gomez; Manuel Albert Fernandez; Brandon Fernandez; Jesenia Fernandez; Joshua Fernandez; Sebastian Fernandez; and Karyna Fernandez. Nena is also survived by her siblings Vero Cruz, Rodolfo Chairez, Lucy Ibarra, Alicia Coss, Margarita Mendez, Carmelo Chairez, and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jose and Alta Gracia Chairez and sisters Gloria Santillan and Amelia Colón.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 10:00 am at Church On The Move.

Cuando Ya No Este Aquí

Cuando ya no este aquí, déjenme ir.

Tengo muchas cosas que hacer y ver.

No me retengan con sus lagrimas,

estén contentos en que disfrutamos tantos años.

Yo les brinde mi amor,

y no se imaginan cuanta felicidad ustedes

me brindaron a mi.

si me necesitan, háblenme y vendré.

“Bienvenidos”.
