<p>Thelma B. James, the daughter of the late Mrs. Hailey J. Bonaparte and Mr. Raysor Bonaparte, of Elloree, South Carolina was called to eternal rest on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at her home, after a brief illness.&nbsp;</p> <p>Mrs. Thelma James was born in Elloree, South Carolina on December 14, 1926. Mrs. James was a graduate of Elloree high school. Mrs. James was married to the late Mr. Hercules James, Sr. for over fifty years. To that union were born seven children. The family resided in Orangeburg South Carolina.&nbsp;</p> <p>Mrs. James served her community as a domestic worker. She later worked as private duty nurse until her retirement. Mrs. James attended New Mt. Zion AME church in Creston, SC. She was a member of the Sunlight Community Club and dedicated her time to support the Treadwell Street Committee and the Orangeburg Chapter of the March of Dimes.&nbsp;</p> <p>Mrs. James was proceeded in death by her husband, Mr. Hercules James, Sr., two of her sons, Robert James and Hercules James, Jr., a son-in law, Jerry Garrett and a grandson, Joshua S. James. Survivors include four daughters; Mrs. Emma Ruth Hill of New York, NY, Mrs. Sammae Thompson of Elloree, SC, Mrs. Gloria James Lott of Ulmer, SC (Joe), Mrs. Jacqueline James Garrett of the home, one son; Mr. Michael F. James, Sr. of Aviano, Italy, (Alicia), two sisters; Annie B. Wells of Elloree, SC and Mary B. Myers of St. Matthews, SC. Seventeen grandchildren; Jerri Necole Garrett, Jerry J. James, (Vicky), Chiquita M. James, Michael, D. James, (Ashley) Antonio D. Garrett, Kayla M. Garrett, (Maurice) Andrew D. Garrett, Dr. Debrenna Agbenyiga, (Agbeko), Katina James, Christopher James, (all raised in the home), Michael F. James, Jr. Darryl-Robert James, Shamyah E. James, Hailey V. James, Jeane Bonaparte, Nathaniel Thompson, and Adam Thompson. Thirty great-grandchildren, (Fourteen of whom were raised the home) including a special great-grandson, Jarrell Wright. Five special nieces; Hailey Snyder, Joe Ann Haynes, Barbara Ann Oliver, Belinda Hickson and Regina Myers. A special nephew; Johnny Myers, Jr., add two special friends: Emma Brooks and Fairy B. Zeigler; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.</p> <p>The service will proceed as follow:</p> <p>The viewing will be held on Friday, November 20,2020 at Glover&#39;s Funeral Home at 2:30pm until 7:00pm.&nbsp;</p> <p>The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 21,2020 at Glover&#39;s Funeral Home beginning at 1:00pm.&nbsp;Services will be streamed live on our Facebook page Glover&#39;s Funeral Home of Orangeburg. All those attending must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.</p>
