Janet Marilyn Stutzman

Cumberland, MD- Janet Marilyn (Coulter) Stutzman, of Cumberland, died peacefully at home on November 18, 2020. Born February 21, 1932 in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Gladys (Fleshour) Coulter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marlin M. “Bud” Stutsman; two sons, Scott Stutzman and Mark Stutzman; and, a sister, Beverly A. Berkebile and husband Glenn. Janet had graduated from the American Institute of Banking and had taken courses at Allegany Community College. Mrs. Stutzman had worked at Johnstown Bank & Trust and First National Bank as a mortgage bookkeeper. She retired from the Allegany County Board of Education, having been a secretary at Oldtown School, followed by Allegany High School. Mrs. Stutzman was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, where she belonged to WELCA and had served on the church council. She was also a member of McKinley Chapter #12, O.E.S.; Ali Ghan Shrine Sheiks & Sheilas, Cumberland Women’s Civic Club, Women’s Sport Club, Newcomers Club and Women’s 500 Club. Survivors include her two daughters, Vicki Mudrick and husband Howard, and Tracey Malloy; and, a grandson, Matthew Mudrick. Visitation will be at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Saturday from 10 AM-11 AM. The funeral service will follow at 11 AM, with Rev. Sally L. Bartling, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Memorial contributions may be made to either St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 1601 Frederick Street, Cumberland, MD 21502 or to the Cumberland Women’s Civic Club, 515 Washington Street, Cumberland, MD 21502.
