Mia Nicole Price Obituary

Mia Nicole Price, daughter of Joan Claudette Dashiell and the late Ross W. Grant, III, was born in Salisbury, Maryland on December 18, 1969. At her home on April 30, 2018, God called her from labor to reward to rest eternally with Him. “Nikki”, as she was lovingly called by family and friends, had a love for life that was best demonstrated by her commitment to family and friends. She was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, niece and friend. Nikki was the rock of her family and had them in mind in everything she did. Nikki received her formal education in the Wicomico County public school system. She matriculated at Morgan State University and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from the Woodbridge School of Business. Additionally, she received training to become a certified travel agent. For more than 15 years, Nikki was employed as a Department Manager at Filene’s Department Store in Milford, Connecticut. When she moved to Maryland, she transferred to Macy’s at the Centre at Salisbury where she worked as a Michael Kors specialist. Nikki currently worked at Days Inn Salisbury as the supervisor of Housekeeping. She was loved and respected by the management, employees and hotel guests. At the early age of 13, Nikki confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and throughout her life served Him. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Quantico, Maryland. She served as a Certified Lay Servant, Vice President of Sisters Anointed and member of the Inspirational Choir and United Methodist Women. Nikki loved to clean, read and shop, especially for handbags. While she was not fond of cooking, she loved Popeye’s chicken and cheesesteak subs. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 27 and she would recite it often. Through every trial and tribulation, she would display her beautiful smile and tell her mother “I Won’t Complain”. Although she had no tolerance for nonsense, she always maintained a pleasant disposition and treated everyone with loving kindness. Nikki was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clifton and Doris Price, paternal grandparents, Ross II and Barbara Rector Grant, two aunts, Melva Campbell and Sybil Clark, and an uncle, Lewis Rideout Bey. Left to cherish fond memories are her mother, Claudette Dashiell; three children, Tyrin Banks, Gia Banks, and Nigel Banks, all of Salisbury; one granddaughter, Ava Nicole Smiley; one sister, Stephanie Crockett (Ricardo) of Smyrna, DE; four brothers, Dean Grant, Sr. of Fruitland, MD, Deangelo Grant of Atlanta, GA, LaVaughn Clifton Price, Sr. of Salisbury, and Ross W.
