Linda Sue Middlesworth Marion, Indiana Obituary

Linda Sue Middlesworth

Linda Sue Middlesworth, 83, died November 18, 2020, in her home in Sweetser, Indiana, holding her husband’s hand. Because she trusted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she stepped from the battle of pancreatic cancer into eternity and the arms of Jesus. She leaves her husband of 64 years, Richard; daughter, Teri (Jim) Rodibaugh; sons, Mark (Sally) Middlesworth and Toby (Diane) Middlesworth; 10 grandchildren: Justin (Rhonda) Rodibaugh, Jeremy (Kassi) Rodibaugh, Amy (Tyler) Hensler, Kyle Rodibaugh, Jenna (Matt) Illingworth, Danielle (Jamie) Schlueter, Matt (Alicia) Middlesworth, Adam (Taylor) Middlesworth, Derek (Courtney) Middlesworth, and Tori (Nate) McNeely; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Fox; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Ann Dyer; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Nyle Fox. All of these she loved deeply. Born in Peru, Indiana, on August 14, 1937, to parents, Berl and Laura Buis, Linda’s childhood was filled with fishing trips, 4-H, Angus cattle, and country living. She graduated from Marion High School and attended Purdue University. She met her husband while square dancing and the country boy won her heart. She was member of Converse Church of Christ and her servant heart and love for Jesus led to many roles in the church, from the nursery to children’s church to youth group leader to Samaritan Room director to funeral dinner organizer. Her Bible was always open and notebook after notebook in her home contain her writings of scripture verses. She hid God’s word in her heart and it overflowed into others’ lives in Bible Studies, conversations, and books that she readily shared. Linda wore many hats during her lifetime: daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, grandma great, farm wife, caregiver, babysitter, 4-H calf-breaker, sports and NASCAR fan, Rich Plan dealer, lake house hostess, farrowing house manager, spiritual counselor, friend, Roseburg Event Center cook and bottle washer, pool party hostess, Grandma’s library organizer, and countless others. Linda exemplified the Bible verse from Ephesians 4:32--“And be kind and compassionate with one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Her heart’s desire was to know that her family and friends would know and love Jesus. We say goodbye to her earthly body but rejoice that she is in her heavenly home worshipping her Savior and waiting for those she left behind. The family wishes to thank Visiting Nurses and Chris Ailes' caregivers for the kindness and compassion shown to the family during the last weeks of Linda’s life. Private family services will be held with burial taking place in Converse Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Converse Church of Christ, 301 E. Wabash St., Converse, IN 46919, specifically to the Samaritan Room or the LOFT. Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
