Daniel DeJesus

FAIRHAVEN-Daniel DeJesus, 88, of Fairhaven, died peacefully Monday, November 16, 2020 at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the widower of Hazel E. (Simpson) DeJesus and son of the late John and Mary (Bettencourt) DeJesus. Born in New Bedford, he resided in So. Dartmouth and in Fairhaven for most of his life. Mr. DeJesus was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict attaining the rank of Aviation Machinist's Mate, 3rd class. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was the proprietor of DeJesus TV and Radio Service and was a member of the Electronic Technician's Guild. Mr. DeJesus was an avid bowler and an all around handyman who also enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He loved spending time with family, friends and neighbors. His family includes his daughter, Kim DeJesus of New Bedford; his 2 sons, Dan DeJesus and his wife, Sara Lamarre of Fairhaven and Bruce DeJesus and his wife, Kim of Dartmouth; his daughter-in-law, Sandra Wells of TN; his brother, John DeJesus and his wife, Jean of Georgia; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren including the late Justin Chilton, several great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the step-father of the late Raymond Mosher and brother of the late Robert DeJesus, David DeJesus and Alfred DeJesus. Due to current pandemic restrictions, his funeral with interment with military honors in Massachusetts National Cemetery was private. A celebration of his life will be conducted at a later date.
