Sonja McGill Salmon Arm, British Columbia Obituary

Sonja McGill

Sonja (Fuzz) Joan McGill (nee Nielsen) was born July 24, 1938 to Danish parents, Eilif and Meta. She grew up in the lower mainland and Fraser Valley, British Columbia. She spent life's precious last months enjoying visits from family, friends and co-workers, reminiscing about the past and all it's idiosyncrasy's; then left this world in true Fuzz style. Monday, she wanted to go to palliative care, Tuesday, she insisted on walking down that long hallway to her room and on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, she went on a new journey to the great beyond to meet, greet and hug all who preceded her: son, Kerry; mother and father; brother, Willie and close friends, Isla and Inga. Fuzz was, shall we say, a very special woman. "A Jill of all trades," mother and homemaker, psych nurse for 35 years, hobby farmer, landscaper and gardener, equipment operator and mechanic, logger, sawyer and millwright, architect, builder and cabinetmaker. Talk about a great cook! She did it all! Fuzz also had a natural way about her that made everyone feel welcome and at ease. Her kindness and generosity were paramount. Fuzz's quiet time involved plucking and pruning her flowers, reading, music, movies, TV documentaries and crossword puzzles. With a heavy heart she left the old homestead and Lynn her partner, companion and best friend of 39 years behind to go on her own journey until we meet again. Besides her many friends, Fuzz left her brother, Georg (Joyce); nieces Tavi, Anna and Marnie (Paul); nephews, Dave, Scott and Eric. Also her extended families Cliff and all the Smarts! Along with Tony and all the McGill's. <br>
