Joan A. Little Vienna, Virginia Obituary

Joan A. Little

Joan Little, a long-time resident of Vienna, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary, of 45 years. Joan is survived by her two children Diana Blevins and Gary Little Jr., her two granddaughters Amanda Blevins and Adrienne Lipscomb, and her great grandson, Leif Lipscomb. Joan was born Giovanna Adelina Park in Vandergrift, PA. She was one of six children and eldest daughter born to Italian parents, Anthony and Angela Maria Park. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Park. She was a doting mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and just a fun, great person to be around. Everyone called her Mom, Nunn-e, or Nun for short. Anyone who grew up around her knew that they were always welcome at Nun and Pop’s house and it was the place to be for holiday get-togethers. Nunn-e was an avid sports fan with a long time dedication to her Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals, and Washington Capitals teams. Very rarely did she miss an Orioles or Nationals baseball game. She was excited to celebrate the recent championships won by the Capitals and Nationals, even attending one of the World Series games. When she was not watching sports, Nunn-e enjoyed music, crafting, spending time with family and friends, margaritas, and Target runs with her granddaughters. She loved great food and never turned down a Vienna Inn Chili dog and a cold beer. She enjoyed sewing baby clothes for her granddaughters and could sew the best shorts this side of the Mississippi River. A small service will be held at National Memorial Park on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 11:00 am. For those who would like to pay their respect, but are unable to attend, Money and King is providing a virtual live feed on Tuesday beginning at 11:00 am. Please visit Joan’s obituary on the Money & King website at www.moneyandking.com for the link to attend virtually. In remembrance of Joan’s life, the family asks that in lieu of flowers a charitable contribution be made to Capital Caring Health at www.capitalcaring.org.
