<p>Waynesville, Lucy Woody Edwards, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.</p> <p>Lucy was the daughter of our Lord Jesus Christ and Floyd and Maggie Woody. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Verlin Edwards.</p> <p>Lucy had four biological children, Jerry Verlin Edwards, of Gastonia, Cathi Brown, and her husband, Luke, of Balsam Grove, North Carolina, Lucrecia (Lulu) Edwards Ray, of Waynesville, Rita Edwards Hoyle Gunter, of Waynesville, James Olin Gillette, of Pickens, South Carolina and Reverend Rhonda Y. Haney, of Waynesville. As well as mother and friend she was a grandmother of 11; great-grandmother of 29; and a great-great- grandmother of 13. </p> <p>A visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. A private family service will be held at a later date.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.</p> <p>The care of Mrs. Edwards has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.</p>Obituary
