Michael "Mike" Grant
<p> Michael “Mike” Grant, age 70, of Caroleen, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.</p> <p> Mike was born July 15, 1950 in Rutherford County to the late Marion Theodore Grant and Virginia Tate Grant. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1969. Mike was a self-employed landscaper for thirty years and worked for Cone Mills and Reeve’s Brothers for several years. Mike loved the Lord and loved talking about Him. Mike loved his church family and loved his family. He always looked forward to get togethers and cookouts. He enjoyed cutting grass and doing lawn work.</p> <p> In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Marshall, Donald, Warner, Roger, Steve, Joe and Randy Grant.</p> <p> Those left to cherish his memory include his wife for thirty-six years and best friend for almost forty years, Edith Grant; sister, Cathey Earls (Tommy) of Shelby; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Wallace (Chuck) of Caroleen and Peggy Elliott of Ellenboro; two brothers-in-law, Clyde Elliott of Caroleen and Paul Elliott (Sandra) of Forest City. He is also survived by his beloved “furry friend”, Max.</p> <p> The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Colby Davis, Reverend Samuel Leach and Reverend Timmy Hodge officiating. Interment will follow in Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.</p> <p> Memorial donations are requested to Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 486 Robertson Creek Church Road, Bostic, NC 28018.</p> <p> </p>Obituary
