Silvano Arizpe Obituary

Silvano Arizpe age 88 passed away peacefully in his home on November 18, 2020. He was born in General Bravo, Nuevo Leon Mexico on October 25, 1932 to Pedro Arizpe and Julia Guerra. He met and married Blanca Maldonado on February 19, 1959. He and his wife moved to Minidoka in 1961 where they raised their 9 children. Silvano worked on Morgan and Shillington’s Farm for 15 years farming, watching cattle and crop dusting; then at the Split Butte Ranch for 6 years in cattle. After that he worked for Patterson’s Farm for a couple of years and then with B & H Farms where he injured his shoulder. He was unable to continue working, so he decided to take his wife and 3 young children and moved to Texas close to family. After living there for 12 years, his wife and him returned to Idaho where they bought a home in Rupert and lived comfortably in it. Silvano liked to work with his hands, he was a man of all trades fixing things. He was also very blunt with his thoughts saying them out loud without bothering to worry (at his age) if he offended or not. In his leisure time he enjoyed visits with his children, going to Jackpot and scratching tickets.

Silvano is survived by his 8 children, Sandra Macias Arizpe, Leticia Arizpe, Rosa (Froylan) Castro, Rudolfo (Nora) Arizpe, Marco (Tasha) Arizpe, Jorge (Lucy) Arizpe, Isela (Humberto) Lopez and Israel (Karen) Arizpe; 32 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren and still growing; 3 sisters and 3 brothers. He was proceeded in death by his wife Blanca M. Arizpe, his daughter Bertha Arizpe, his parents and four sisters.

The family wants to thank Kathryn from Harrison’s Hope for all her care given to Dad. Thank you, we greatly appreciated it!

Due to the current pandemic, there will be a graveside service  at 1:00 p.m. on November 20, 2020 at the Rupert Cemetery, under the direction of Joel Heward’s Hansen Mortuary.
