Gary Merle Granger, I, 60, of Grantsville, MD, died Tuesday, November 17, 2020, in Oldtown, MD. Born May 29, 1960, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Robert Merle and Betty Mae (Wagner) Granger. He was also preceded in death by one step-brother, William “Billy” Hayes. Mr. Granger was owner and operator of Village Lock Pro and In the Kings Service. He also started as a seasonal officer for the Ocean City Police, worked for Keyser City Police and then Washington Co. Sheriff’s Department. Gary was a member of the NRA and the International Truckers Association. He had a deep love for his dogs, farming and the beach, he also had a deep love for God. He is survived by his wife, Renee (Neff) Granger; one son, Gary Merle (companion, Brittany Michelle Conn) Granger, II; two daughters, Bethany Renee (companion, Tyler Vincent) Granger and Mallory Virginia Mae (companion, Darrien Kristiansen) Granger; two step-brothers, Bob Granger and Michael Hayes; one sister, Robin Troutman; two step-sisters, Patty Walters and Debbie Miller; one grandson, Aaron. The family would like to thank Grant Wolfe and all the First Responders from Allegany Co. Emergency Services. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Jason Upton and Pastor Joe Lashley officiating. Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Due to COVID-19, we respectfully request those in attendance, please use masks and honor social distancing.
