Justina Gonzalez Rosado Obituary

Justina Gonzalez Rosado, age 93, passed away on November 14, 2020.  She was born December 29, 1926, in Puerto Rico to Juan Rosado and Felipa Santiago.  Justina was the youngest of three children.  She attended San Augustine School in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  She lived in Puerto Rico until the age of 18 and then moved to New York to live with a family friend. 

Justina met Ruben Gonzalez and they raised their two children, Miriam and Ruben, in a beautiful brownstone in Brooklyn, New York.  She worked as an electrical switch assembler for the well known electric company,  in New York for more than 30 years.

Justina enjoyed reading, sewing, and cooking. She also enjoyed traveling to Europe and kept photo albums of all the places she traveled. Years later she moved to Massachusetts to live with her daughter, a local school teacher, and spent 15 years as a resident of Fitchburg.  

Justina is known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Wita’”.  She was a loving, caring grandmother and would spend time with them whenever she could. Wita was always prepared and ready to serve anyone who was hungry with a delicious home cooked meal.  

Justina is predeceased by her parents, Juan Rosado and Felipa Santiago, her brothers Juan Rosado and Julio Rosado, the father of her children Ruben Gonzalez, her son Ruben Gonzalez.

Justina is survived by her daughter Miriam Ruiz and Cesar A. Ruiz, Jr., the father of Miriam’s children, her grand-daughter Danalynn Stockwood and her husband Christopher and their four daughters Abigail, Chevelle, Cheyenne and Chevonne of Athol, her grandson Cesar Ruiz and his wife Cathia and their three sons, Mason, Jensen and Ezequiel of Leominster, her grandson Christopher Turtle of Tennessee, her grandson Corey Croan from Missouri, her grand-daughter Toni Gonzalez from Colorado, her soon-to-be great-great grandson who is expected in December as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.  All of whom, she loved deeply.  

Please join us in celebrating her life on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Lavery Chartrand &Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420 calling hours will be from 10-11am with service at 11am, followed by  burial at Forest Hill Cemetery, 115 Mt. Elam Road, Fitchburg, Ma 01420
