Phyllis Coffey Obituary

Phyllis R. Coffey, 61, died peacefully in her home on December 14th after a brief illness. Born April 27, 1945 in Cambridge, OH, she spent most of her childhood in Washington Court House, OH where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Don Lentz. After surviving him, she found love again with John C. Coffey in Middletown. She was active in her church (St. Mary´s then Christ United Methodist), taught bible studies and aerobics and cheered patients at the Middletown Medical Center. Phyllis was kind, generous and above all a source of happiness and inspiration to all who knew her. Her smile lit up the room and her joy was contagious, touching the lives of everyone she met. After living a full, wonderful life, putting others before herself, she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, John C. Coffey of Middletown; son David Lentz of Los Angeles, CA, daughter Leigh Ann Lentz of Cincinnati; son Douglas Coffey of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, mother June Wallace of Middletown, and 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Chelsea Coffey. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 17th at the Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home. A private funeral service will be held later for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45206, Citizens Against Domestic Violence, 2105 Central Ave., Middletown, OH 45044 or Hospice Care Of Middletown, 1131 Manchester Ave., Middletown, OH 45042.
