Mrs. Mary was born on October 7, 1927 to the late Mr. William and Davita Spell of Orangeburg County. She departed this life on November12,2020. She was preceded in death by her husband the late Louis Simpson and seven children;Louis Simpson, Jr, Clarence Simpson, Earthel Boneparte, Nathaniel Simpson, Odell Simpson, Louise Simpson, and CatheyThomas.
Ms. Mary attended the public schools of Rowesville and was a long time member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church; where she was a member of the Mass Choir, served on the Missionary Committee and was one of the Mothers of the Church.

Mary was an affectionate person who was loved by many and grandma to the community. She always had a kind word for everyone. Mary enjoyed cooking and sewing quilts.Singing and fishing were two of most her favorite things to do. She was also an EasternStar.

She leaves to cherish five loving children; Bishop Danny (Devita) Simpson; John E Simpson, all of Philadelphia,PA;VickieWashington; Lucinda(Melvin)Whaley; Beluah(Rev.Samuel)Green all of Rowesville,SC. Two special Great-Grandchildren, Danielle and Dariel Reed. One brother Elijah Spells,one sister-in-law Mrs.Alma Mays. Her best friend Merline Jennings and her care takers: Maurice Simpson, Sheryl Felder and Deborah Cook, Hospice Amedisys and a host of other loving grands and great grands, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Thursday, November 19,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home at 1:00pm until 7:00.

The funeral will be held on Friday, November 20,2020 at Glove's Funeral Home beginning at 12:00pm.
