Marjorie "Deda" Clemons Obituary

Marjorie Clemons, affectionately known as "Deda" by her family, was born December 24, 1942, to the late Arthur and Roxie Howell. She departed this earthly life November 16, 2020. Margie loved the church, and joined St. Paul Baptist Church in Georgia at an early age. Marjorie was educated and graduated from the Willard County High School in Georgia. After graduation, Marjorie relocated to Newark, New Jersey, where she worked numerous jobs to support her family. Her beloved sons are Darryl and the late Adrian Howell. Margie started working at Hoffman LaRoche as a temp and worked her way up to supervisor. She remained at Hoffman LaRoche until her retirement in 2004. During her time at Hoffman LaRoche, Marjorie met Earl Clemons, who she later joined in holy matrimony in August 1987. Margie was an active member of the St. Peter’s Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Morrast in Newark NJ. Marjorie loved bingo and visiting Atlantic City. She also loved to cook. She enjoyed these things until her health would no longer allow her to continue. Margie leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Earl; a son, Darryl Howell; a step-son, Stephen Moseley; one sister, Francine Sebere; one brother, Emory Howell; a sister-in-law, Gail Clemons; brother-in-law, John G. Clemons; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marjorie joins her departed siblings, sisters Joyce Howell, Lula Jeannette Lane, Winnie Pearl Byrdsell and Felicia Chapman, and brothers Uhlyes Howell, Arthur Howell and Felton Howell. Marjorie was a beautiful person. She loved her family, her friends, and her church. She will truly be missed. This Online Memorial has been created to commemorate the life of Marjorie Clemons.
