<p><span style="font-size:18px;">Amelia Torres Ramirez age 84, passed away on Nov 18, 2020 in Lorena, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be 11 am, Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Waco, TX, an interment will follow (2:00 pm) at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.&nbsp; A Visitation with the family will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 21, 2020, Rosary by Deacon Freddie Torres will begin at 2:30pm, both at Grace Gardens Funeral Home in Woodway, TX.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;">She was born on May 30, 1936 in Geronimo, TX to Vicente Torres and Paula Salinas Torres. Amelia Lived in Taylor, TX until she met and married Silverio &ldquo;Sonny&rdquo; Ramirez on June 5, 1955 and they celebrated 53 years of marriage. Amelia &amp; Sonny had 5 children: Silverio Jr., Larry, Yves Marie, Rene and Yvette.</span></p> <p><br /> <span style="font-size:18px;">Amelia was a faithful and devoted catholic and loved to pray for all her family and friends. After Sonny retired from the United States Air Force they made a home in Austin , TX where they attended St. Thomas More Catholic Church for over 30 years. In her early years she worked as a hairstylist and eventually retired as an employee of the University of Texas. She was most proud of her family and took pride in being the oldest of 13 children. Along with her 5 children she had 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She took great care of her husband and family. Her family and friends will always remember her as a beautiful lady, with an equally beautiful heart. She was our &ldquo;Chula&rdquo; always well dressed, make up and nails done. She will be greatly missed by everyone.</span></p> <p><br /> <span style="font-size:18px;">Amelia is preceded in death by her parents, husband Sonny, brother Lupe Torres, son Rene Ramirez, and grandson Keoni Lino.</span></p> <p><br /> <span style="font-size:18px;">Amelia is survived by her children; Silverio Ramirez Jr. and wife Julie of Washington, Larry Ramirez and wife Dannette of Renton Washington, Yves Marie Pierce and husband Dave of Lorena, TX, daughter in law Darlene Ramirez of Taylor, TX, Yvette Meinkowsky and husband Teddy of Hewitt, TX.
