<p>Robert Leal Gomez, 83, of Exton, passed away on Sunday, November 15, at his home. Robert was the son of the late George and Mary (Hummel) Gomez. After graduating from Valley Forge Military Academy in 1957, Robert served honorably in the United States Coast Guard until his discharge in 1962. During his service, he proudly served aboard a lightship off the coast of Boston. Robert, known as Bobby by his colleagues, worked at Wyeth Labs in West Chester for decades and retired in 2001.</p> <p>Robert was a member of Masonic Lodge 322 (West Chester), Chester County Antique Car Club, Valley Forge Mustang Club, Mid-Atlantic Plymouth Club, and Gold Wing Road Riders Association.</p> <p>Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Natalie (Barry) Gomez; his two sons, Barry Gomez, husband of Sharon, and Brian Gomez, husband of Jennifer. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Hailey and Cassidy, and a sister, Melanie Bannon, wife of Michael. He has scores of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him greatly.</p> <p>A private graveside service will be held at Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert&rsquo;s name to the <a href="https://www2.heart.org/site/SPageNavigator/donatenow_legacy.html" target="_blank">American Heart Association</a>&nbsp;or the <a href="https://www.kidney.org/donation" target="_blank">National Kidney Foundation</a></p>

Robert Leal Gomez, 83, of Exton, passed away on Sunday, November 15, at his home. Robert was the son of the late George and Mary (Hummel) Gomez. After graduating from Valley Forge Military Academy in 1957, Robert served honorably in the United States Coast Guard until his discharge in 1962. During his service, he proudly served aboard a lightship off the coast of Boston. Robert, known as Bobby by his colleagues, worked at Wyeth Labs in West Chester for decades and retired in 2001.
