Ryan M. Jones Brookfield, Wisconsin Obituary

Ryan M. Jones

Born to Eternal Life on November 14, 2020, at the age of 43. Devoted husband of Angela Jones for 19 years. Loving father of Lily, Ava, Dominic, Jack, Ella, Emma, and Hannah. Beloved son of Steven and Teresa Jones. Loving brother of Abigail (Lou) Oborny, Caroline (Eric) Roush, Olivia, Benjamin (Amberlynn), and Spencer Jones and brother-in-law to Mary Jo (Matthew) Wernet and Paula (Michael) Gotthardt. Preceded in death by his mother-in-law Judy Formolo and his father-in-law Gene Formolo. Further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Ryan was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and moved to Durham, North Carolina, at the age of five. He was proud of his southern roots his entire life, often reminiscing about his childhood days and his love for the Carolina Tar Heels. While attending Christendom College in Front Royal, Virginia, he met his future wife, Angela, and made many lifelong friends. He worked in Virginia for a year and then relocated to Wisconsin after Angela graduated. They married in Milwaukee and went on to have 7 beautiful children. The move to Milwaukee marked the beginning of Ryan’s career in the insurance industry. He was a field underwriter for almost 7 years when he decided to go back to school for computer networking. After trying his hand in the IT field, working as a system administrator at US Bank in downtown Milwaukee, he was lured back into insurance by the The Starr Group. There, he was treated like family for the past 11 years, with many wonderful co-workers he was proud to call his friends. His care and concern for all of his clients was evident, and he will surely be greatly missed. Ryan’s most cherished role, however, was as a very devoted husband and father. He loved spending time at home with his family, playing games, watching movies, reading to the kids, going for walks, and playing catch in the backyard. Ryan, Angela, and the kids would often all gather in the evening to watch a favorite show, followed by Ryan leading the family in praying the nightly rosary. Ryan was an involved dad who loved having fun with his kids, whether it was hiking in the woods, taking the kids to the park in the summer, or sledding in the winter. The weekends and evenings were often spent running kids to their various activities, like sports games for the boys that he’d even coach when possible. He’d do anything to bring joy to his children, even if it meant playing endless rounds of “Pretty, Pretty Princess” with his little girls! When he had time off from work, he’d tag along on field trips with Angela and the kids to places like the state capital, Cave of the Mounds, and the Nutcracker ballet. He created lasting memories for his family through trips to Springfield, Chicago, Green Bay, the Wisconsin Dells, the Indiana Dunes, and Six Flags Great America. Being with extended family and friends was important to Ryan. He always looked forward to the family trips to Iowa to visit his parents, and Thanksgiving will never be the same without him! Ryan had a great love and respect for his parents; he chose his dad to be his best man at his wedding, and he highly valued the time his mom devoted to their family through her years as a stay-at-home mom. Although he was much older than many of his siblings, he maintained a close relationship with all of them, even his youngest brother who was 18 years younger. He was also a loyal son-in-law to Angela’s parents, often dropping whatever he was doing to help them in their later years. Above all, Ryan was a man of faith. He was a devout Catholic and truly practiced what he preached. Even in hard times, he never questioned God’s plan for his life. He provided an excellent example of how to live a holy life to his family and friends. Being a parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish was part of Ryan’s identity. He loved the Lord with his whole heart and believed in the promise of eternal salvation for those who are worthy. While his loved ones mourn his loss, we find comfort in that promise. ~May the choirs of angels come to greet you. May they speed you to paradise. May the Lord enfold you in His mercy. May you find Eternal Life.~ Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24th , at Sacred Heart Croatian Church (917 N. 49th St., Milwaukee) at 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM, followed by graveside services at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required at the visitation and Mass. Only invited guests will be allowed in the main church during the Mass because of limited space due to covid restrictions. Others may watch the Mass livestreamed in the church hall on a first come, first serve basis until attendance requirements have been reached. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred or monetary donations may be made to Angela Jones to cover expenses during this difficult time.
