Frank B. Henkis

Frank Bernard Henkis, 66, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 15th, 2020 at Christ Hospital, Jersey City.

Frank, also known as "Sarge", was born on August 29th, 1954 in Belize City, Belize, to Rosa Henkis. He came to Jersey City in 1971. He lived on Warren Street in Downtown where he fell in love with his new home. He was a well-known figure in his neighborhood. Later, Frank moved to the Marion and was regularly seen at Rita and Joe's Restaurant. Frank was an Auto Mechanic and worked for 12 years at New Jersey State Auto Auction, Jersey City.  Frank was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend.

Frank was predeceased by his Mother and his Brothers, Albert, William and Charles. He was raised by his adoptive Mother and Father, Hallie and Walter Young. Sarge leaves behind to cherish his memory his common-law Wife, Deborah; his children, Alexandria, Shanna and Karim; his Siblings, Judith, Janett, Colleen, Zahara, Kathleen and Mark; four Grandchildren; two Great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday, 11/21, from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 pm. There will be a Prayer Service for Frank during the Visitation. Cremation will be private.
