<p>Maria Dolores Cuellar-Tobias, mother of five, grandmother of twelve, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020, after a two year battle with ALS.&nbsp;</p> <p>Maria is survived by her mother, Santiaga Renteria-Cuellar; her husband, Mario; her five children, Claudia Tobias, Estela Velazquez (Luis), Maria Elena Gonzalez (Saul), Lorena Salazar (Reynaldo), and Mario Alberto Tobias (Carmel); and her twelve grandchildren, Josua and Mons&eacute; Tobias, Daisy, Bailey, and Khloe Velazquez, Diego Ibarra and Saul Gonzalez, Jr., Amy, Allyson, and Ashley Salazar, and Mario and Mason Tobias. She is preceded in death by her father, Jos&eacute; Cuellar.</p> <p>Maria was born on December 31, 1958, in Ejido Cinco de Mayo, Coahuila, Mexico. On November 30, 1974, she married Mario, and nearly one year later they joyfully welcomed their first child, Claudia. They then welcomed Estela in 1977, Maria Elena in 1978, Lorena in 1980, and finally Mario in 1982. In 1993, Mario and Maria decided to immigrate to the United States, and eventually settled in Sherwood, Arkansas. Maria loved cooking, gardening, knitting, helping others, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic, a faithful wife, and will always be remembered for her vibrant personality. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.</p> <p>Visitation will be Thursday, November 19, 2020 at <a href="https://www.smithfamilycares.com/sherwood">Smith Sherwood Funeral Home</a> (7700 Hwy 107) at 5:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, November 20, 2020 at <a href="http://saintedwards.net/">St. Edwards Catholic Church</a> (805 Sherman St, Little Rock, AR 72202) with burial following at Rest Hills Memorial Park.&nbsp;</p> <p>AR Covid-19 Directives: Face masks and social distancing required.&nbsp;</p>
