Brayton A. Round

Brayton A. Round, 76, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at home in Harrisville, surrounded by his family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Brayton and Hope E. (Carlton) Round. Brayton worked as an electrician for most of his life. He was the owner and operator of Round 1 Electric for over 40 years and served as the Electrical Inspector for the Town of Burrillville for 33 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Oakland Mapleville Fire Dept. for 10 years and the Harrisville Fire Dept. for 25 years. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1966, serving overseas in Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Grenada and Morocco. Brayton was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time at his camp in Maine. Brayton is survived by a son, Brayton Round II and his wife Karen of Harrisville; a daughter, Lauren Hope Zalepka and her husband Vance of Tinton Falls, NJ; two step-daughters: Harle Lavallee of Bristol and Katie Lavallee of North Smithfield; a brother, Carlton Round of East Granby, CT; two sisters: Alma Moore of Harrisville and Nancy-Hope Normandin of Pascoag and four grandchildren: Brayton III, Bryan and Benjamin Round of Harrisville and Dani Zalepka of Tinton Falls, NJ. Calling hours will be held Thursday, November 19 from 4 to 7 PM in the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave., Pascoag followed by a short service at 7 PM. All current COVID restrictions will be followed. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Harrisville Hose Co. #1, 201 Callahan School St., Harrisville, RI 02830 or Between the Cracks, PO Box 468, Harrisville, RI 02830.
