Our beloved mother Mary Ann Formusa Lawrence went to her heavenly home to meet Jesus on Saturday November 14th, 2020 at the age of 67 at her residence. Mary loved her country and served in the Women’s Army Core (WAC) from 10/09/1971-02/11/1973. She was proud to be an American. She joined the Army after graduating from John F Kennedy Highschool in Chicago,IL. After leaving the Army she would marry the late Stanley James Lawrence and have two children. Mary gave her life to the Lord in the late 70’s early 80’s. In the late 70’s early 80’s she worked as a secretary/ housekeeper in a hotel complex in Houston Texas. She began to work in the 80’s at the Agape women’s shelter for battered women in Picayune. Late 80’s She began to work at Domino’s Pizza as a delivery driver. She moved back to Chicago in 1990 until 1997 to take care of her parents. While in Chicago she worked for Latino Youth for the IHeap program. After returning to Picayune in 1997 she retired from working and began to enjoy the life as grandma. She loved being a grandma! She was really excited to become a great grandma. She loved seeing her grand babies and spending time with family. She enjoyed going to church in which, she attends Christian Life Assembly of God, crocheting, watching Disney channel, she always kept up with the new shows and movies, she loved old shows like “The Flying Nun”, “One Who Flew Over the Coo Coo’s Nest. She enjoyed taking care of people. She was the most patient, caring, selfless and loving person. We will miss her dearly. As I would always tell her, “You are the best mommy in the world!” She was preceded in death by her parents: Steve Formusa Jr. and Helen Formusa of Chicago,IL Her Grand Parents: Steve Formusa and Rosie Formusa of Chicago, IL. Her maternal grandparents The Elich’s Her children’s Father: Stanley James Lawrence She is survived by her children: Stephen Lawrence (Vickie) of Picayune,Ms, Tonilynn Reynolds (Robert)of Carriere, Ms. Her Father in law: Merton A. Lawrence of Picayune, Ms Her Mother in law: Althea Ezell of Humble Texas 5 Grandchildren: Andrea (Colton) of Carriere, Anthony Lawrence of Picayune, Juliana Lawrence of New Orleans, JoAnna Reynolds of Carriere and Daniel Carrasco of (Chicago) 3 Great Grandchildren: Jace, Colton of Carriere, Da’Quan of New Orleans and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins. The family will have a memorial service on Tuesday, November 24th at 10:00 am. Location will be at Christian Life Assembly of God at 1015 Hwy 43 North Picayune, Ms 39466. Pastor Darrell Worley will officiate the service. Following the memorial there will be a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at New Palestine cemetery in Picayune, Ms
