Myra K. Hess

Myra K. "Kaye" Hess, age 90, of Wooster, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby, Ohio. She was born on August 31, 1930 in Wooster to Clarence and Elsa (Harmon) Matz. After graduating from Wooster High School Kaye then attended the College Of Wooster. Kaye also attended and graduated from Hammel Business College in Akron. She lived in the Akron area for many years before moving back to Wooster. Kaye married Carl W. Hess on April 4, 1965 in Wooster. He passed away on October 10, 2011. Kaye had worked as a bookkeeper for an area attorney for many years. Following her retirement, she and her husband moved to Arizona for a few years before returning back to Ohio. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Wooster; enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader; more recently loved to go on tour bus trips and playing cards with friends. She had presently resided at Brookdale Senior Living in Wooster. She is survived by relatives, friends and acquaintances. Per Kaye's previous wishes there be no public visitation. A committal service with inurnment to be next to her husband, will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Kevan Franklin officiating. (Please meet at the office/entrance to the cemetery by 12:15.) Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is honored with serving the family and friends.
