Lynn Foley, 89, Minot, ND died Sunday, November 15, 2020 in her home. Lynn Adele (Hendrickson) Foley was born at home in rural Michigan, ND, to Archibald and Agnes (Orseth) Hendrickson on November 6, 1931. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Michigan City High School in 1949. She attended Mayville State College, ND, and earned a first grade elementary teaching certificate for rural schools. She taught two years at a country school by Petersburg, ND. She than decided to teach with the Bartlett Consolidated Schools, ND, where she also served as the principal. While teaching in Bartlett, she met Maurice Foley. Maurice knew the day that he set eyes on her that he was going to marry her and that day happened on July 21, 1954. Right after their marriage, they moved to Tacoma, WA, where Maurice served in the U.S. Air Force. While in Tacoma, she gave birth to her first born, Steven. They stayed in Tacoma until 1957, when they returned to North Dakota to make their home in New Salem. During their time in New Salem, the family grew with three daughters, Cathlyn, Karen Renae (who died a month after birth) and Karen Diane. The family spent five years in New Salem where they made many lifelong friends. In 1963, the family moved for the final time to Minot. While in Minot, the family became complete with the addition of two sons, Duane and Tom. Lynn was a soft-spoken woman who loved her family. She was a hard worker and knew the value of money. She was able to create many fine meals on a little budget. Her grandchildren were always excited to eat some of her cookies, cakes and caramel rolls. Her home was always open for a fresh cup of coffee. She was resourceful using scraps of materials to make doll and Barbie clothes for her daughters. She was a gifted seamstress and sewed many clothes and pajamas for her family. She created or repaired many different Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. The majority of family babies were gifted with a flannel baby blanket. Lynn’s hands were usually filled creating various things for her family. In recent years, Lynn researched her family’s genealogy.   Lynn was filled with faith and shared her faith with the family. She volunteered at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church by teaching CCD, helping in the office and food pantry and being a member of the St. Cecilia’s Circle and serving as the treasurer of the Our Lady of Grace Altar Society. She is survived by her husband, Maurice Foley, children Steven (Sue) Foley, Cathy Foley, Karen Foley, Duane (Kim) Foley, and Tom (Teri) Foley. Her grandchildren: Jared (Hannah), Ryan (Jessica), Tess (Zack), Taylor (Kim), Jordan (Megan), Taylor (Colter) and Kameron. Three great grandchildren: Avery, Henley and Abby. Her sisters: Ardis Rolland, Renae (Gary) Huseby, Elaine Loe, sister-in-laws: Joyce Hendrickson and Monica Hendrickson and brother-in-law Dale Flom.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Renae, her parents, her father and mother in-law Basil and Blanche Foley, her brothers Ronald Hendrickson and Leslie Hendrickson, her brother-in-laws: Marlin Rolland, Keith Loe. Her sister-in-law and husband Vivian and Robert Kondrat.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.   At the request of the family and by state mandate,   Masks Are Required.  The service will be livestreamed for the public to view and can be accessed by going to https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkw5wBH7W_IUwKUcuLvhgOw
