James V. Howard, 81, of West Gilchrist Avenue Artesia, New Mexico passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020. James was born on August 11, 1939, in Salina, Kansas to Leonard and Enid Howard.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be no services at this time. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
After high school, James enlisted in the marines for four years. He was a very talented and versatile artist, and specialized in pinstriping, lettering, and airbrushing: creating greeting cards. James was also a fine musician, and could play the guitar and keyboard, and could pick up any other instrument and play it. He was always a joy to be around, and loved to spend time with friends and family. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
James was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Howard; mother, Enid Howard; and two brothers: Don Howard and Gary Howard.
James is survived by his daughter, Teresa Donaghey and husband, Jack of San Patricio, NM; granddaughter, Angel Qualls and husband, Greg of Midland, TX; grandson, TJ Helser of Abilene, TX; and five great-grandchildren.
