Private funeral services for Hector Fierro, 57, of Dora, NM were held Tues., Nov. 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM in Dora.  Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with Hector Fierro, Jr., Edwardo Chavez, Gilberto Melendez, Gabriel Arzate, Gerardo Davila and Julian Gonzalez serving as pallbearers.  Julian Melendez, Mario Melendez, Mario Fierro, Humberto Gonzalez, Juan Tovar, Ariel Borunda were named as honorary pallbearers.

Hector Fierro was born Nov. 6, 1963 in Chihuahua City, Mexico to the home of Velia Fierro, and died Nov. 12, 2020 in Albuquerque, at the age of 57 years, and 6 days.

On June 30, 1982 in Aldama, Mexico, he was married to Maria Luisa Arzate.  They came to the United States on June 10, 1995.  Mr. Fierro worked at various jobs throughout West Texas and Eastern New Mexico.  He was a very hard working man.  Since 2014 he had worked in the oil fields as a pipe fitter.

He was always very kind and friendly, and had many friends.  Mr. Fierro loved animals of all kinds, especially horses.  He always enjoyed going to the horse races.  His family always enjoyed the wonderful things he grilled.  His grilled chicken and corn were among their favorites, as well his fried fish.

He is survived by his wife, Maria of their home; his son, Hector Fierro, Jr. of Monahans, TX; his two daughters and one son-in-law, Jessica Fierro and Edwardo Chavez  and Velinda Fierro all of Portales; and his only grandson, Hector Fierro III.
