Krista Huffman, 50, of Quincy, IL, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Saturday (November 14, 2020) in Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Krista was born July 10, 1970 in Quincy to Eric & Bonita Rodberg. She married Josh Huffman on July 2, 2005 in Palmyra, MO. He survives. Krista was a dearly loved mother, sister, wife, daughter, & friend. She found joy in making every Christmas for her family both magical and memorable. She lent a helping hand to anyone in need. Anyone who knew her knew that she was a master of Scrabble and trivia. A lover of music, film, & literature, Krista could often be found attending one of her favorite band’s concerts (The Cure, Duran Duran, David Bowie), watching one of her favorite movies (Pretty in Pink, The Outsiders, The Rocky Horror Picture Show), or reading a Stephen King novel cover to cover in a day’s time. In addition to her husband, other survivors include three children, Allison Smith of Springfield, IL, Noah Smith of Quincy, and Zoey Huffman of Quincy; three brothers, Chuck Dawson of Meredosia, IL, Ed Dawson (Linda) of Quincy, and Danny Dawson (Deborah) of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Diana Myers of Quincy and Juel Spindler of Bastrop, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. Krista was preceded in death by her parents and a close friend, Donna (Swango) Hendrian. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy. To honor Krista, the family asks that casual attire or band t-shirts be worn to the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help cover visitation and funeral expenses.
