Obituary
James Kenneth Langston, age 92, of Asher, OK passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020
in Shawnee.
He was born July 29, 1928 in Ray City, OK to Kenneth and Rena Mae (Stanford) Langston.
James was an Asher High School graduate and has been an Asher resident since 1969.
He married Kim Cong Ok in 1966.
James proudly served his country in the US Air Force for 20 years, serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars.
After his military career he owned and operated Langston Brothers Service Station and Motel from 1970 to 1983. James then drove a school bus for Asher Public Schools.
He is a member of the Shawnee Masonic Lodge.
James loved airplanes, motorcycles and cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Langston; brother, Bill Langston; and sister, Margaret Gurley.
James is survived by his wife, Chong of the home; 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Bill Langston of Waco, TX and Jim Heston and wife, Kathleen of Marysville, KS; daughter, Linda Langston of Waco, TX; brother and wife, Richard and Sandy Langston of Pensacola, FL; and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 and continue to service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clint Dawkins of Sharon Baptist Church, Tecumseh, OK officiating. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
