Brenda Rose Gregory (nee Flamand)

 

April 7, 1940 – November 6, 2020

 

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our mother Brenda Gregory from covid-19 at Grace Hospital.

Brenda was predeceased by her husband Thomas Gregory; son-in-law Darrell Halliday; her parents Euclid and Annie and brothers Rene and Robert. She leaves to mourn her children Derek (Eileen), Darlene, Kevin, Kelly (Alexandra) and Lance (Karen). Grandchildren Steven, Kyle, Nicole, Brendan, Chantelle, Rashelle, Tyler, Chelsi, and step-grandchildren Ashley and Leanne, 9 great grandchildren and two more on the way. She also leaves behind her brother Dwight and sisters Cheryl, Rhonda (Joey) and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Brenda spent most of her life in Winnipeg. She loved her job and worked for over 30 years at the Winnipeg Free Press until her retirement in 2004. Many lasting friendships were made at the newspaper. Her favourite restaurant was Red Lobster. Mom was sure to never waste her meals especially when it came to Walts favorite shrimp. She always loved spending time with the family and hearing the grandchildren’s stories. In honour of Mom play some Bob Seger, her favorite singer. Many times over the years when mom was listening to Seger she was at her happiest, snapping her fingers and singing along.

The family would like to thank the Covid Unit at Grace Hospital, especially Dr.Ginger for making Mom comfortable in her last days.

Cremation has taken place with a private memorial to take place at a later date.

“If roses grow in Heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for me, place them in my mother’s arms and tell her they’re from me”

We will miss you mom and love you forever.
