<p>Esther S. Ortiz, 69, of San Lorenzo passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at La Posada in Las Cruces.</p> <p>Cremation has been entrusted to Baca&rsquo;s Funeral Chapels.&nbsp; A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, November 20, 2020 at two o&rsquo;clock in the afternoon at Calvary Chapel in Silver City.&nbsp; Inurnment will follow at San Lorenzo Cemetery.&nbsp; Officiating is Pastor Joseph Gros.&nbsp; Honorary pallbearers will be Ruth Halvorsen, Sally Young and Melba Parra. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, 25% of the capacity of the church will be allowed, must wear a mask and social distancing will apply.</p> <p>Esther was born on July 27, 1951 in Santa Rita to Raul Marquez Sepulveda and Luz Zapata.&nbsp; She was a lifelong resident of San Lorenzo and made a home there with her husband, Robert. Esther loved being outdoors to fish, hunt and spending time with her family.&nbsp; She also liked to sew, cook, and taking pictures but she always made sure that she had her nails done. Esther worked at the Cobre schools as a cook, assistant teacher and in the library.&nbsp; Purple was her favorite color and she loved flowers.&nbsp; Esther will be missed by all who knew and loved her.&nbsp;</p> <p>Esther is survived by her loving husband, Robert Ortiz; son, Gilbert S. Jimenez (Michelle); daughter, Ivy Woodward (DJ); three grandchildren, Gilbert R. Jimenez, Cameron Woodward and Hunter Woodward; brother, Toy Sepulveda (Delia).&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents, Raul and Luz Sepulveda and a brother, Rudy Sepulveda.</p>
