Neal Harwood, age 78 entered the arms of Jesus peacefully on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 7:15 PM surrounded by family.  Neal was born in Akron, Colorado, and the son of Eddie & Juanita Harwood who preceded him in death.  A sister Kay also preceded him in death.  Neal is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judi (Warren) Harwood and children Jeff (Kris) Harwood, Eddie (Denise) Harwood, and Amy (Tony) Halderman.  Neal also leaves behind 6 granddaughters and one great granddaughter: Kara (Bryant) and Kinsley Dinwiddie, Kendra Harwood (fiance’ Chris Allee), Shae and Corinne Harwood, Macie and Sydney Halderman.  Other survivors include a brother, Leon (Betty) Harwood of Pueblo, CO and a sister Glenna (Chuck) Harrison of Colorado Springs, and many nieces and nephews.

 

To know Neal was to love him!  He didn’t know a stranger and made friends with all he met.  He was kind, generous, funny and outgoing.  He was a lover of hats, shoes and sports.  He rarely missed any of his kids or grandkids’ ball games and activities.  Most importantly, Neal loved Jesus and modeled his kindness and compassion to all he encountered.

 

Although Neal had many friends and acquaintances, due to COVID-19, the family will host a private memorial service.  The family would like to celebrate Neal’s life with a memorial/scholarship fund for student athletes suggested to: Central Bank of Eldon, Neal Harwood Memorial Scholarship Fund P.O. Box 354 Eldon,  MO 65026.
