Verleen Maxwell Bennett 55, of Bernard Avenue, Kannapolis, NC passed away on Friday, November 13, at Atrium Health - Cabarrus. She was born in Iredell County on September 20, 1965 to Leonard McCorkle and the late Verlass Maxwell.
Verleen was educated in the Cabarrus County Schools and was a 1983 graduate of AL Brown High School. She was formerly employed by Cannon Mills. Verleen was a member of Marable Memorial AME Zion Church.
Services will be Saturday, November 21, at Marable Memorial AME Zion Church, 400 Huron St. Kannapolis, NC. Visitation will be at 12:00 – 1:00 PM with funeral services at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Jimmy Bennett, Sr. of the home; four daughters, Katisha Bennett of Kannapolis, Christa Bennett of Charlotte, Chloris Bennett of Chicago, IL, Nicole Bennett of Kannapolis; two sons, Jimmy Bennett, Jr, Demarcus Maxwell, both of Kannapolis; 29 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; father, Leonard McCorkle of Kannapolis; brother, Abraham Maxwell, Jr. of Charlotte; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Due to Covid-19 Mask must be worn to all services.
