Phoebe A. Ornce of Springville, New York passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home in Springville at the age of 94. She was born January 21, 1926 in Viborg, SD a daughter of the late Lawrence and Ingaborg (Lund) Peterson. She was a homemaker and member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Springville. She enjoyed playing the guitar and the accordion, riding her bike and she loved dogs. Her husband, George E. Ornce who she married on December 30, 1944 in Sioux Falls, SD passed away on August 3, 1999. She is survived by her children: John (Jeanette) Ornce of Springville, James E. (Pat) Ornce of the The Villages, FL, Richard F. Ornce of Lee's Summit, MO and Barbara J. (late Robert) Farner of The Villages, FL; also survived by 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five siblings. Friends may call on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 2-5 PM at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main St., Springville where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 11 AM with Pastor Eric Goodwin officiating. Interment will be held in Maplewood Cemetery, Springville.
