Michael "Mike" Joseph Kalustian

Michael "Mike" Joseph Kalustian, 63, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Pleasant Ridge Manor, Girard. Mike was born in Meadville, on February 12, 1957, a son of the late Thomas and Rose Mary (Gaglione) Kalustian. On July 5, 1986 Mike married Kathy Nichols; she survives. A 1975 graduate of Meadville Area High School, Mike attended Edinboro University on a full baseball scholarship and earned his Bachelors Degrees in both Criminal Justice and Education. Over the years he had been employed by the City of Meadville as a Police Officer, by Conneaut School District as a Social Studies and Driver's Education teacher at Linesvile High school, and was also a football coach for Meadville and Linesville High Schools. Having had a passion for fitness and health club facilities, Mike owned and operated the original Body Firm which led to owning additional fitness facilities in Pennsylvania and Michigan. He enjoyed every aspect of the fitness industry including training others, keeping current with the latest equipment and managing the business facets. For 25 years he and his wife, Kathy, owned and operated a Health Club Consulting Business which allowed them to travel throughout the United States. Later in life, Mike became an animal lover and gained much joy from his two dogs Bella and Macy who were given to him by his daughter, Dallas. He was a coffee connoisseur and could often be found in the local coffee shops. Mike will be remembered as a devoted father who loved attending and following all the activities and sporting events of his children. He loved following Meadville High School sports and was a huge supporter of them, and also of many small, local businesses. He will also be remembered for his outgoing nature. He was a jokester at heart, but a kind and loving one. Although he left us too early, he will live in on our hearts. In addition to his wife, Kathy, Mike is survived by three children Dallas Dne Kalustian of Tampa, FL, Dr. Michael Joseph Kalustian II of Destin, FL , Thomas Kalustian of Cambridge Springs; a sister Patricia Cervone (Charlie) of Meadville; two aunts Jane Gaglione, Julia Battista both of Meadville; several cousins; many life long friends including John Mottillo, John Lee, Pat Barco, Jim Buxton, Dick Abbondanza, Joe Dreistadt, Ronnie Zuccaro, Jim Barco, Nick Monico and Garry Bonanno who was like a brother to him. Per Mike's wishes, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made in Mike's memory to Humane Society of Crawford County, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335. Mike's family would like to extend a heart felt thanks for all the prayers and well wishes he received during his illness. Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P.
