Sandra Lee Steeman, age 66, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at St Charles Hospital in Bend, Oregon. She was born in Orange, California on October 2, 1954 to Doris & Michael Keegan. Sandra spend many years traveling the western US working miscellaneous jobs as she explored. She moved to Burns, Oregon in the late 80s where she began working for the U.S. Forest Service as a wildland fire fighter. In the 90s she began working as a fire lookout on Snow Mountain for the Ochoco National Forest. For over 20 years Sandra worked as a fire lookout for both the Ochoco and Malheur National Forests. On November 2, 2002 she married Ralph Steelman of Hines, OR where they made their home. She enjoyed hunting, trap shooting and shopping for the best deal. She is survived by her husband Ralph Steeman of Hines, Oregon; her step daughters Christina Olsen of Redmond, Oregon and Tami Gonzales of Wisconsin; her grand children Christopher Howes or Hines, OR, Nicholas Howes of Bend, OR and Katherine Olsen of Redmond, OR; and 3 great grandchildren. As per Sandra’s request, no memorial services will be held. Her remains are being cremated and scattered at the location of her choice.
