Ruth Laverne Allen, age 90, of Richmond, passed away, Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center. Ruth was born in Midland, Pennsylvania to the late Leonard and LaBelle Long Harris. She was a homemaker, member of White Lick Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Allen; one son, John L. Allen; and two brothers, Charles Harris and Rufus Harris. She is survived by her two daughters, Rita K. Goins and Linda Curtis; five siblings, Edna West, Thelma Helton, Reba Davis, Ruby Morgan, and Harold Harris; two grandchildren, Robert Goins and Stacey Curtis; and one great grandchild, Tristen Curtis. Funeral services will be 3 pm, Monday, November 16, 2020 at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Lakes officiating. Burial will follow in the Cartersville Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1- 3 pm at the funeral home. The family will observe state mandate for facial coverings and social distancing for all services.
