William A. Blount Sr., 73, Leavenworth, KS passed away after battling lung cancer Nov. 10, 2020 at his residence. Bill was under the care of Heartland hospice, his wife Pat, his 2 sons Sean, Aaron and Russell and 2 grandkids Austin and Amber as well as several extended family members and friends. William (Bill) was born June 5,1947 in Batesville, Mississippi to Murray and Eunice Lee (Huddleston) Blount. Bill met and married Patricia (Pat) A. Everett and they were married on February 18, 1984. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He then moved to Leavenworth and retired after 29 years of service from the Bureau of Prisons (USP) in 1997. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family. Bill is survived by his wife Patricia "pat" Blount. Two sons Sean Blount and William "Aaron " (Staci) Blount Jr. Two step children Russell Schonherr and Pamela Englehart. 4 grandchildren Amber (Travis) Denney, Austin (Sarra) Britton, Megan and Haley Schonherr. Two great-grandchildren Addasyn Denney and Jameson Britton all of Leavenworth, KS. Three brothers, Johnny, Noah “Red”, and Robert Blount. Two sisters, Linda Harper and Bobbi Turner, all of Mississippi. Preceded him in death were his parents, two sisters Shirley Fullilove and Billie "Sue" Nail and three brothers Murray Jr., Charles and Morris Blount all of Mississippi. Per Bill's wishes there will be no services. A private family burial will be at the Leavenworth National Cemetery with military honors. The family will gather for a celebration of life.
