Dwight "Ikey" Allen Nash Obituary

Dwight Allen “Ikey” Nash, age 65, of the New Garden section of Honaker, Virginia passed away Wednesday (November 11, 2020) following a lengthy illness. Born September 26, 1955 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Major Arthur Nash and Lena Bee Ray Nash Sharpe. A lifelong Virginia resident, he was a 1973 graduate of Honaker High School and a member of Finney Baptist Church. He was employed as a conductor of Norfolk and Southern Railroad with twenty years of service. He was a wonderful companion, father, brother and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Taze and Hattie Price, who were like second parents to him and two brothers, Gerald Nash and George Wayne Sharpe. Survivors include his loving companion of forty-five years, Pamela Jane Griffith; four children, Priscilla Denise Griffith, Melanie Beth Nash, Matthew Allen Nash and Shawn Chase Nash; four grandchildren, Ridge James Ray, Tyler Jordan Griffith, Colby Drake Nash and Jonathan Allen Nash; one expected granddaughter, Avaleigh Nash; one sister, Aleda Lynn Nash and a very special friend, Larry Lambert. Following “Ikey’s” wishes, his body will be cremated and a memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Ikey Nash Memorial Fund c/o Honaker Funeral Home P.O. Box 1620 Honaker, VA 24260.
