Vivian A Monfett Obituary

Vivian A. (LaBelle) Monfett, age 73, of Holyoke, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with love, respect and pride from those that knew her. She was born in Holyoke, a daughter of the late Leo P. and Yvette M. (Bienvenue) LaBelle and was a 1964 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Westfield. A graduate of the Holyoke Annex Nursing Program, Vivian worked as a caring Licensed Practical Nurse at Western Mass Hospital in Westfield. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and enjoyed spending time at the Holyoke Senior Center.  Vivian was the widow of Thomas A. Monfett Sr., who died in June of 2006. She is survived by her step-father, Louis Fattorini; six children to carry-on her tenacious love for life: Angela Renaudette of Holyoke, Pamela Knowles and her husband Greg of Holyoke, Ronald Renaudette and his fiancé Kelly of North Brookfield, Thomas Monfett Jr. and his wife Tonya of West Springfield, Charles Monfett and his wife April of Holyoke, and David Monfett and his fiancé Rachel of Holyoke; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Peter Fattorini and wife Cathie of Westfield; two sisters, Janice Gryszkiewicz of Westfield and Tina Campbell and her husband Brian of Cumberland, RI; and several nieces and nephews. Her interactions were done with a focus on making others feel important, loved and she was a true supporter to many as they sought their own pursuits. She had an often unduplicated but often attempted zest for living. She fought hard to live every day she was fortunate enough to have and we were fortunate enough to have her for. “Don’t over think it” “It’s your life, be there” and “Do your personal best” were, among others, sayings she told others to live by, as she did. If you want to honor her, let her be a reminder to live your own life to the fullest, because she sure did. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial for Vivian on Tuesday, November 17th at 10 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 16th from 4 to 7 pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. Masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vivian’s memory to WestMass ElderCare, Attention: Meals on Wheels, 4 Valley Mill Road, Holyoke, MA 01040.
