Rosalene Alice Turnbough Obituary

Rosalene Alice Turnbough, nee Turnbough, age 86, of Davisville, Missouri passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 peacefully at her home surrounded by family. She was born Friday, July 27, 1934 in Davisville, Missouri to the late Emery and Litha Martin Turnbough.

As a young girl, she would walk by herself to the Davisville Church. She was saved at the age of 8 and served the Lord ever since. While pumping gas at her father’s garage, she met Wilbur Jake Turnbough. Jake as he was known by family and friends told Rosalene when she was just 11 years old that when she grew up he was going to marry her.

Rosalene and Jake were united in marriage on Saturday, January 29, 1949 in St. Louis, MO. They were blessed with two children, Sharon Kay in 1950 and Randy Jake in 1955. Rosalene and Jake lived in St. Louis during their younger years. She worked for National Garment and Carps Dept. Store as well as babysat. In 1973, they moved to Cuba, MO and in the early 1980’s they moved to Davisville. Rosalene loved to cook, make quilts and clothing. She enjoyed watching game shows, such as Wheel of Fortune and shopping networks along with watching Jimmy Swaggert. She also enjoyed going to church as long as her health allowed. Most of all she loved being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Turnbough; parents, Emery and Litha Turnbough; father and mother in-law, Thurber and Lillie Turnbough; brothers and sisters, Roy (Helen) Turnbough, Richard (Irene) Turnbough, Troy Turnbough, Lawrence (Bonnie) Turnbough, Ellis Turnbough, Bonnie Welker and Geraldine Turnbough; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leahman Pierce, Willard Turnbough, Wilma (Riley) Todd, Zelma (Vondel) Callahan and William (Kaye) Turnbough.

She will be missed by her daughter, Sharon (Clyde) Pyatt of Davisville, MO; her son, Randy Turnbough and companion, Debbie DiMarco of Overland, MO; five grandchildren, Joyce Kay (Mike Halbert) Pyatt of Steelville, MO, Jeff (Natalie) Pyatt of Viburnum, MO, Jake Turnbough and friend, Carrie Logan, of St. Louis, MO, Jill (John) Watson of St. Louis, MO and Jason Eaton of Steelville, MO; great-grandchildren, Kylee, Nolan, Gibson, Blanche, Ripken Halbert, Zaria, Oriana, Malina, Jocco and Rase Watson and Jaylee Eaton; sister, Dorothy Pierce of Afton, MO; sisters-in-law, Mary Turnbough of Cuba, MO and Dawn Turnbough of Davisville, MO; brother-in-law, Dale Welker of Potosi, MO; other relatives; and many friends.

The Family received friends from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2020 and from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Hartley and Rev. Ron Walter officiating. Special music of "I want us to be together in Heaven", "I'll meet you on the other side of Jordan" and "Heaven sounding sweeter all the time" was sung and played by the Ivie Sisters. Other music of "The Oasis" was sung by Rev. John Slade accompanied on piano by Rosemany Ivie and Bro. Bob Coleman on guitar.

Committal prayer and interment were in the Davisville Cemetery.

Honored to be casket bearers were Jeff Pyatt, Jake Turnbough, John Watson, Mike Halbert, Gibson Halbert and Ripken Halbert with Jocco Watson and Rase Watson as honorary.

The Turnbough Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home.
