Bryndís H. Rondeau, age 84, passed away Wednesday November 11, 2020 at Mont Marie Health Care Center in Holyoke. Bryndís, who was often called Día, was born and educated in Iceland before settling in Holyoke with her family. She was predeceased by her husband of  40 years, Richard C. Rondeau (2002), her parents Gunnar Árnason, and Bjarney Guðjónsdóttir, her siblings Kjartan Thoroddsen, Steinunn Hildigunnarsdóttir, Erlingur Hildigunnarsson and Halldór Hildigunnarsson. Bryndís is survived by a daughter Bjarney A. Cruz of Holyoke and two sons: Harvey K. Rondeau of West Springfield and Richard G. Rondeau and his wife Robin of Holyoke; four beloved grandchildren: Khayyam Cruz and his wife Sara, Bryndís Cruz and her husband Stuart Lawson, Nicholas I. Rondeau, and Rachel F. Rondeau; and three great grandchildren, three special nieces and a nephew, and many family members and friends in Iceland. 

She worked as a housewife and modeled for product promotions and various other things.  Día was very artistic, she sang and played the guitar and drew and painted many portraits for people.

Visitation will be held in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, on Tuesday November 17 from 9:30 to 10:30am followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, at 11:00am.
