Peterson, Susan J. (LaGrange) age 86 of Maple Grove (formerly New Hope, MN). Born March 21, 1934 in Ames, Iowa to William and Ruth (Somers) LaGrange. Passed away November 3, 2020. Graduated from Iowa State University with a Home Economics degree in Textiles & Clothing. Married Richard I Peterson on the evening of their graduation. Susan was active in many arts guilds and groups. She excelled in most crafts that use some type of needle. Family & friends benefited from these pursuits. She also was an excellent gardener and a voracious reader. She & Dick attended Calvary Lutheran Churchin Golden Valley and then Plymouth Congregational in Mpls. Preceded in death by husband, Richard; parents; and brother-in-law, Bob. Survived by children, Deb (Jim) Meyer, Chris (Bich-Thu) Peterson and Sandy (Ken) Smott; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Laura) LaGrange; sister-in-law, Karlyn (Robert) Scott and many other relatives and friends. Private family services. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be directed to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
