Les Otis Miller Obituary

Lester Otis Miller, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 11, 2020, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Lester was born February 17, 1938, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to William Arther Miller and Loretta Mae Andrews Miller. He grew up and attended schools in Grand Island, Nebraska. After high school, he was drafted and served in the US Army and earned the ranking of Corporal. 

Les married Roberta Tsang in 1962. They were later divorced. On August 18, 1983, he married Janet Rebecca Newman Miller in Idaho Falls. Lester and Janet made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Lester worked as a union driller for Western Construction.

He was a member of the Salvation Army Church. Les enjoyed cooking, taking drives, and driving new military recruits in Boise. He loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. 

Lester is survived by his loving wife, Janet Rebecca Newman Miller of Idaho Falls, ID; sons, Donald (Pam) Miller of Idaho Falls, ID and Arthur Miller of Idaho Falls, ID; daughters, Sherry (Brian) Waters of Idaho Falls, ID, Teresa (Tom) Rosenwenkel of Vancouver, WA, and Ohleana Steed of Blackfoot, ID; step-daughters, Barbara (Jered) Wilson of Idaho Falls, ID and Jennifer Wielbalhaus; step-son, Delbert (Sherill) Newman of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Edna (Ray) Breininger of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Dell Miller of Idaho Falls, ID; 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wilbert “Red” Miller and David Miller; sisters, Ann Porter, Jackie Denning, Marion Jensen, and Vivian Priest; son, Andrew Miller; and grandson, Jeremy Essig.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
