Elizabeth Johnson

<p>Beth Johnson passed away on November 5, 2020 after a week in the hospital fighting COVID-19. Beth made&nbsp;Chadron home in 2009 when her former wife, Pam Newberg, took a position in library&nbsp;science at Chadron State College. Beth loved the Chadron community and&nbsp;participated actively in many organizations. It was her wish to stay in Chadron where she was lovingly cared for by the staff at Chadron Community Hospital. Beth was proud to be &quot;Grandma Beth&quot; in the&nbsp;preschool program at Northwest Community Action and CSC Child Care Center. Among many other&nbsp;activities, she&nbsp;exercised at the pool, made daily wellness checks on isolated elders as a care-caller, helped people negotiate the dying process as a hospice volunteer, and was a Senior Partner for students in the CSC class on aging.&nbsp;</p> <p><br /> &nbsp;</p> <p>Beth is preceded in death by her son Matt, sister Cathy, and parents Catherine and Marcel.&nbsp; She is survived by her sister Shelley, brother Jim, sisters-in-law Norah and Emily,&nbsp; brother-in-law Jim, stepson Tory, and nieces Mary-Kay, Ann, Ruzna, and Alida, grandnieces Adia and Payton, and grandnephew Ryan. We her family wish to thank the amazing staff at Chadron Community Hospital and all of Beth&#39;s chosen family in Chadron and Prairie Pines. We know you share our loss, and we send you our love and condolences</p>

Beth Johnson passed away on November 5, 2020 after a week in the hospital fighting COVID-19. Beth made Chadron home in 2009 when her former wife, Pam Newberg, took a position in library science at Chadron State College. Beth loved the Chadron community and participated actively in many organizations. It was her wish to stay in Chadron where she was lovingly cared for by the staff at Chadron Community Hospital.
