Kamela Jean Johnston Obituary

Kamela Jean Johnston, Weiser, Idaho. was born in Council, Idaho on March 19, 1962. She passed away October 23, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital, Meridian, Idaho of heart issues and had also been disabled for years. She was the beloved daughter of Norman Jean Gilman Ratcliff, Council, Idaho and Arvid Hemenway (deceased). Kamela, "Kami", "Kam" as many of her closest friends and family called her. Kami was raised in Council, Idaho and went all 12 grades of school, graduating from Council High School. She is also survived by her significant other Eduardo R. Pineda of Weiser. It was remarked many times, what a beautiful smile and sole she had, she could "light up a room and your heart"! She was a loving and compassionate person, who loved to be funny! She loved road trips, horses, and her "fur babies" Spirit, Scrappy and her birds. In her school years and after, she participated in local rodeo events such as Little Britches and the Idaho Girls Rodeo. She was quees of the Council and Emmett rodeos. She was in the queens court at the Caldwell Night Rodea in 1976-77. She also loved to play high school basketball. She played in Council and also in Emmett and went to state with the girls basketball team. Kam's name is on the Council High School track team and she still holds the record in hurdles. She graduated co-salutatorian in 1980. Most of all she loved and adored her children as they were her whole world! Kam wanted more than anything for them to have a wonderful life, even if it meant going without. She shared everything and anything she could with her children. Kam would most of all and as she said many times to her closest friend Sharon Gagin of Emmett, to celebrate life to the fullest and celebrate good times and memories with her. She also wanted everyone to remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. She is survived by her son Kaggen Johnston, Weiser and Nick (Sara) Hemenway, Lolo, Montana, her daughter Carisa Johnston Webster, Cambridge, Idaho, three sisters, Kristi Hemenway Dawson (Phillip), Abilene, Texas, Cari Ratcliff Hug, Cambridge, Idaho and Ronya Hemenway, Emmett, Idaho, her two brothers Kelly Hemenway (Michell), Nampa, Idaho and Clark Ratcliff (Staci) Emmett, Idaho and her seven grandchildren Kaitlyin, Trinity, Callie Jean, Damon, Kayson, Kyler, and Levi and two great-great grandchildren WInter Rose and another great-grandson in Wisconsin. She is precede in death by her sister Coni Ratcliff Nesbitt and father Arvid Hemenway. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her. Her mother Norma is on Facebook and condolences can be sent there to her also.. You can also send condolences through the "A Memorial Page for those we loved and lost" by Darlene Steward, Weiser. Her "fur baby" Spirit was stolen out of her yard last summer. Nothing upsets folks more than to loose your "fur baby" so with the help of Animal Control Officer Chuck Green and amazingly with the little information I could give him, he knew right where to look and "Spirit" was back in her arms! Since she loved animals so much especially horses and dogs, maybe a wonderful place to contribute in her names would be the Weiser Dog Pound. A celebration of her life will be held in one of her favorite places and her ashes will be laid to rest in Yellowpine, Idaho this coming summer and notification will be forth coming. Arrangements under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home.
