Joan Cooper

Mrs. Joan Pulling Cooper, 97, formerly of Amsterdam left this Earth on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at her home in Lovettsville, VA with her loving family by her side. Miss Joan Pulling was born on June 10, 1923 in Grantham, England where she received her education. She relocated to the United States during World War II with her husband William E. Cooper, an Amsterdam native, in 1946. Joan worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s Architectural Business which is responsible for many of the beloved structures we use today. While she enjoyed her position as bookkeeper her favorite role was that of a homemaker, wife, and loving mother. She was also a devoted member of Amsterdam United Presbyterian Church. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband William E. Cooper on March 1, 2013. She is survived by her son David B. Cooper of Ballston Lake, daughters; Patricia A. Cooper of Amsterdam, Jill L. Cooper Morris and her husband Daniel Morris of Lovettsville, VA. She also leaves behind her brother Bruce Bigg of England, her grandchildren Daria Morris and Chad (Traci) Fagan as well as her great granddaughter Tenley. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Amsterdam United Presbyterian Church 25 Church St. Amsterdam, NY 12010 with Reverend Laurence Greenwold officiating. Calling hours will take place the evening prior on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. A private Interment will take place at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to United Presbyterian Church 25 Church St, Amsterdam NY 12010 or the Montgomery County SPCA P.O. Box 484 Amsterdam, NY 12010
